How to put up a pylon!

Here’s a time-lapse video from National Grid showing one of our transmission towers being assembled and erected at a site in Wales. The tower is part of the transmission tower replacement programme currently under way between Pembroke and Swansea.

The whole process of taking down the old tower and erecting the new one took 2 weeks, and this is only one of 270 towers which will be replaced in the course of the programme which will take around 2 years to complete.

Had-Fab Ltd. design and manufacture bespoke electricity transmission towers for use all round the United Kingdom.
